CHALLENGE:
Over the course of the last few years, I’ve felt a strong need for a cohesive community of inspiring women in the Middle East- one that promotes authenticity, substance and connection. I’ve also felt a lack of good content and authentic role models, despite the existence of so many beautiful stories surrounding women in the region.
SOLUTION:
HOME is a community, platform and event that celebrates and connects women in and from the Middle East through inspirational stories and meaningful moments. The initiative is still in its early days but I have begun testing the idea through small events and brainstorm workshops.
Concept
HOME (Her Own Middle East) in its current form is a multi-day event that will bring women together for inspirational talks, workshops, talent showcases and gatherings. It will be the first of its kind in the Middle East, focusing on attendee experience and quality content as its main differentiator.
Workshops
Since HOME is a community-led initiative, I have hosted 2 workshops with women from different backgrounds to co-create the idea together. During these workshops, we work in groups to imagine how a conference could potentially address the professional and personal needs of women in the Middle East.
